If secondary approval is needed for an ACH payment, we’ll send all owners an email about the request. Only one other owner needs to approve or reject it. After the review, we’ll send another email to advise all owners of the status.
To approve or reject an ACH payment using online banking
- Select Transfer & pay at the top of the page, then choose External transfers, wires, & ACH.
- Scroll to the “Past & current activity” section and select View or edit transfers.
- From the “Awaiting approval” section, choose the payment that needs reviewed.
- Look over the payment details and select the desired response.
- Choose Continue to approve to allow the payment to process, then select Approve to complete the payment.
- Choose Reject payment to immediately cancel the payment.
- Optional: A reason may be entered.
To approve or reject an ACH payment using the U.S. Bank Mobile App
- Select Pay bills & transfer, then choose External transfers, wires & ACH.
- Scroll to the “Manage external transfers” section and select View or edit transfers.
- From the “Awaiting approval” section, choose the payment that needs reviewed.
- Look over the payment details and select the desired response.
- Choose Continue to approve to allow the payment to process, then select Approve to complete the payment.
- Choose Reject payment to immediately cancel the payment.
- Optional: A reason may be entered.
More information
- If your business has multiple owners, at least two of them need to be enrolled in digital banking to send an ACH payment.
- A second approval is required when businesses have more than one owner. This is so there's visibility of the payment or transaction for all account owners.
- You must have a registered cellular device on file for at least three business days to use this service. See also: How do I establish a registered cellular device on my profile?

- Approval must be completed by 8 p.m. CT for same day payments, and within three business days for future-dated payments.
