Depending on if your title is in electronic or paper form will determine how you receive it. Please allow up to 10 business days for the lien release, after the vehicle loan is paid in full.
For electronic titles
- A lien release notice is sent to the state, then the state will mail a lien-free title to you.
- Florida and Ohio residents: After the lien release is sent to the state, you must present yourself in person at the local licensing agency to receive a paper title. You shouldn’t need any documentation from U.S. Bank to do this.
- Processing times vary by state, check with your local licensing agency for details.
- Ensure your address is up to date with your local licensing agency, so the title is sent to the correct address.
For paper titles
- We will sign off our lien on the title and send the physical paper to your address on file via standard U.S. mail.
- Ensure your address is up to date with U.S. Bank, so the title is sent to the correct address.
