Community artwork continues on front porch of U.S. Bank in Charlotte

July 01, 2020

We are partnering with artists who helped create the Black Lives Matter street mural in uptown Charlotte.

After local artists created a Black Lives Matter street mural outside of the new U.S. Bank location in uptown Charlotte, Consumer & Business Banking market leader Vickie Harrison, hub leader Ashley Cumberbatch and others at the bank sought an opportunity to continue the momentum.

To do so, the team commissioned several of the muralists to paint rocking chairs that will displayed at the branch and later donated or auctioned off for charity. The artists, including Tyrice Adams, Zacchary McLean and Lo’Vonia Parks, have been working on the chairs in public in front of the U.S. Bank branch at 201 S. Tryon St. over the past week.

Of the effort, Cumberbatch told the Charlotte Post, “This was an opportunity for U.S. Bank to show our support of the local community. By engaging the artists who delivered some of the letters of our Black Lives Matter mural, we are continuing to advocate for them to share their voice and artistic expression.”
